Go Pioneers!

Friday nights in the fall are spent at Pioneer Stadium for football games. The entire town shows up to support the Pioneers. The cheerleaders had a cheer clinic this year for elementary-aged girls, and of course, K had to do this! They cheered at halftime and then through the second half of the game. It was hard, though, for C to understand why K got to cheer and she didn't! K did a great job and needless to say, C picked up on the cheers that K practiced and she is still doing them!

Thanksgiving 2007

I have a new-found respect for mothers of more than 2 children--Gina and I fight constantly with all four of our kids trying to get a decent picture. Last summer, we attempted professional portraits of all four together in hopes of having an oil painting done for Mom and Dad for Christmas. Needless to say, it did not work out! We got great pics of K and C and Drew, but poor little Gavin is not into pictures yet! Here's a pic from Thanksgiving. We thought it might work then, but as you can tell, it still didn't!!!

Hannah Montana or Bust!!!

Like every crazy mother of a tween in North America, I HAD to get Hannah Montana concert tickets. They went on sale on a Saturday morning in October and I was online and on the land phone line at the same time. Stoney was on 2 cells, too, trying to get through. Well, lo and behold at 10:00 on the dot, the Ticketmaster website refreshed and I was able to get my limit of 4 tickets! We knew of one other mom in town that was able to get tickets and we knew about 100 moms trying to get them! So the first Saturday in December, K and her two best buddies (+one of their moms) and I went to Little Rock for the concert. The mom dropped us off at the arena and we found K's teacher and her little girl. We posed for pics and spent a trillion dollars on souvenirs and then the time came for the big concert! I don't think I have ever heard squealing like I heard that night! We danced and sang for 2 straight hours! Needless to say, the girls sacked out in the back of the Tahoe by the time we were exiting the city limits of Little Rock!

First Day of School (on the last day!!)

Okay, as I said before, I am a little behind on blogging...so much so that I am posting the first day of school on the last weekend of school this year! I take K's picture each year at her school in front of the mural on the entrance wall. It has been fun (and sad!) each year to watch as she has grown in relation to the mural. C's pic is at Montessori at the gate entrance. In all the years that we have spent at Montessori, I have yet to find the perfect place for our back-to-school pics!

Woooooo Pig Sooie!!

We love to take the girls to Fayetteville for at least one Razorback football game each year. Stoney goes to all of the games (in state) and we save one cool November night game to take the girls. We tailgate all day (literally!), Caroline naps on a quilt on the ground, we grill, visit with tailgaters around us, call the hogs, and take Kelley to the bookstore. This year, Mother and Daddy went with us.

All of the U of A graduates' names from the late 1800s to current are stamped on the sidewalks throughout the campus. Daddy decided it would be fun for he, Kelley, Stoney, and I to trapse through the entire campus looking for Papaw's name. Caroline and Mom stayed at our tailgate spot for Caroline to nap. Well, for some crazy reason, I wasn't thinking that we were in the Boston mountains at the time and we literally walked uphill about 6 miles looking for Papaw's name. We were all huffing and puffing by the time we found it! It was in front of Old Main, which I made Kelley pose for a pic in front of and told her that we'd take her picture there again when she started college to see the difference in her size! She loved that idea!

Bad Blogger

Well, I have been a bad blogger! I have saved a bazillion pictures to add to the blog so I am going to start posting them--it may seem crazy to post Halloween and Christmas in May, but I am going to anyway!
These pics are from Halloween--C's party at Montesorri with all of her little friends and a pic of K, C, and their "big sister" (as they like to refer to her as) best baby sitter in the whole entire universe at a neighborhood Halloween party! The girls had so much fun this Halloween--we knew that C would be Dorothy and K, on her own, decided that she should be Glenda! Of course, if I had suggested that, she would have NEVER gone for it!!

Chicken Bull A

C and I were shopping last weekend at Jonesboro and decided to have supper before we drove home. I let her decide where she wanted to eat, but STRONGLY encouraged her to choose Chick-Fil-A. We drove up in the parking lot and she saw the picnic tables outside and decided that we needed to eat outside. She loved it!
On Tuesday, she had a doctor's appointment in LR and Grandmama met us after our appointment. Caroline was excited to shop with Grandmama and asked her where we were going to have supper...here's the conversation:
C: "Grandmama, I like supper. Where are we going to eat?"
GM: "I don't know, C, where would you like to eat?"
C: "I want to go to Chicken Bull A...my mommy and I like to eat there on the picnic tables!"
